Compassion

Sponsoring children in need is breaking the cycle of poverty.

Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.

Founded by the Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training.

Today, Compassion helps more than 1.2 million children in 26 countries.

I have been sponsoring a little boy in Ethiopia for 4 years. His father died and his mother is very ill with AIDS. My small contribution is very important to his future.

His favorite animal is an Ox (I had to smile when I read that). I have enjoyed letters, pictures, drawings and updates from him over the years. I hope to someday visit him.

I am only one person. I can only help one child but there are many people just like me. I hope more will consider supporting Compassion or another cause that moves you.
